Following a series of violent knife attacks in the past two months, police have arrested another three youths in connection with the slashing of a 23-year-old man in Yishun on Wednesday evening.
The three suspects are aged 13, 15 and 18.
According to The Straits Times (ST), police received a call requesting for assistance at Block 362, Yishun Ring Road at 5.50pm on Wednesday.
The victim was apparently attacked by two youths who, according to witnesses, were on a motorcycle.
The victim fled the scene, leaving a trail of blood along the way, and sought for help from a resident on the second floor at Block 343 at Yishun Ave 11.
“So he came up all the way here…I controlled his blood pressure…I (asked him what happened), and he said ‘somebody chopped my hand’,” Goh Gerard Kelvin told Channel NewsAsia (CNA).
Other residents said the victim was not alone.
Said Iskandar Zulqarnain, “When I came down, I saw a lot of teenagers and one guy (was covered with) blood. I was shocked.”
The slashing incident is believed to have arisen from a dispute over a stolen mobile phone.
The victim, who sustained injuries to his head and arms, is now warded at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
