The Philippine Patriots hope to stay focused and in shape as they await their opponent in the finals of the AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League.
The Patriots are coming off a two-game sweep of the Westports KL Dragons and are expected to use the long break to prepare against the Chang Thailand Slammers or the Singapore Slingers.
"As I said before the start of the playoffs, any of these three teams (Thailand, Singapore and KL) can give us a tough challenge so we can't pick on which team to face in the finals," said Alas.
The Patriots, behind imports Gabe Freeman and Steve Thomas along with locals Egay Billones, Chito Jaime and Benedict Fernandez, closed out the Dragons, 95-92, at MABA Stadium.
The Slammers are hoping to finish off the-Slingers on Tuesday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. If necessary, a Game 3 will be played in Bangkok on Feb. 6.
The best-of-three finals will likely start on the second week of February, making the Patriots fully-rested for the next 10-14 days or so.
