SINGAPORE: As part of celebrations to mark the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29, the British Club in Singapore is holding a series of festivities from April 21.

The British Club made this announcement at Channel NewsAsia, when they dropped by for a "royal visit".

Decked out as a traditional Town Crier or bellman, the British Club's general manager Sean Boyle came by to give details of their royal celebrations.

The Club's "Royal Week" will consist of high teas, easter egg hunts, UK celebrity visits as well as a street party.

And on the day of the Royal Wedding, Prince William and Kate Middleton won't be the only ones cutting the cake and popping the champagne.

A mock wedding dinner will be held at the club located at Bukit Tinggi Road right after a live telecast of the wedding.

And you don't have to be a club member to join in on the festivities.

"We are opening the club for the first time to the general public," Mr Boyle said.

"So they can see behind the keyhole of the British Club and see how we are celebrating this wonderful event.

"The 'live' telecast will begin at 6pm. We will watch the Wedding from the Westminister Abbey and immediately after this, we will be taken to the ballroom where we will commence a wedding dinner with all the grand fanfare you would expect."
