MANILA, Philippines -- Following the lifting of the tsunami alert by Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the Philippine Coast Guard Action Center in Manila said it has not received any report of tsunami-related incidents involving ships and other watercraft in the country's Pacific side.
In a statement issued at around 8 a.m. Saturday, PCG commandant Wilfredo Tamayo said the agency "continues to closely monitor the situation and remains on heightened alert."
"While vessels are already allowed to sail, they are advised to continue to remain vigilant, observe precautionary measures, and to remain updated on weather and sea condition," Tamayo said.
