The moment Kylie Minogue dramatically emerged  from a rising golden clam amidst Grecian-dressed dancers Tuesday night, thousands of fans who trooped to Araneta Coliseum knew a two-hour show of amazing and magical performance was in store for them.

Broadway met Cirque du Soleil in her Greek-inspired dance-pop concert “Aphrodite Live 2011 World Tour.”

The Australian singer behind the hit songs "Can't Get You Out Of My Head," "Loco-motion" and "Spinning Around" came dressed in fabulous Grecian-inspired costumes. She brought fans into the world of gods and goddesses as she sang her hits from the` 90s  and her latest songs, “All the Lovers,” “Get Outta My Way” and “Cupid Boy.”

Greco-Roman inspired set design

Everything was Greek and Roman-inspired; from the palace backdrop, grand staircases, Grecian costumes to Greek mythology symbols. Imagine gladiators, warriors, goddesses, chariots, Pegasus, cupids and angels entering on stage.  You feel time-warped in the world of Zeus, Aphrodite and Venus.

The production is smaller compared to the "Aphrodite Les Folies Tour," but the whole concert didn't look like it was curtailed.

Video presentations were creative and well-executed. Men and women looking like sea creatures, synchronized their swimming while  Kylie, dressed like an octopus, moved her `tentacles" all around.

The simultaneous action on stage didn't overshadow Kylie's voice and performance even for a minute.

She hit her high notes and danced flawlessly, making everyone wonder where she got all that energy in every song she rendered.

While singing "Illusion," Kylie rode a winged golden horse, an impression of the divine steed Pegasus in Greek mythology, while her costume-clad dancers performed amazing dance numbers. Kylie never failed to surprise her fans in each of her songs, wherein she showed her vocals and never-ending energy.

Each song had its own concept. In "I Believe in You," Kylie, wearing a glittery chiffon dress, rode a chariot pulled by male dancers.  Two armoured men walked behind her as she sang while riding a chariot like the diva that she is, Kylie also took fans to the world of Broadway, mardi gras and the circus of the `80s with her musical and theatrical-like performances and her dancers' breathtaking acrobatic stunts.

Angel

In her cover of the Eurythmics' “There Must Be an Angel,” Kylie, clad like an angel, performed with a male dancer while the others, suspended in the air, moved flawlessly like a swinging chandelier.

The Big Dome transformed into one giant dance floor as fans gyrated all throughout the night to Kylie's dance floor anthems. Kylie performed 24 songs, from her oldies hits to her latest singles from "Aphrodite." Among the favorites and those that got the loudest cheers during the concert were "Love at First Sight," "Get Outta My Way" and "Spinning Around."

As expected, Kylie's number one hit, “Can't Get You Out Of My Head” turned out to be everyone"s favorite.  Everyone began dancing the moment Kylie uttered "la la la…”

“There are many beautiful women and very fine, fine men here,” Kylie said while looking at the audience.

What made the night even extra special was Kylie singing her  hits "Especially For You" and "Loco-motion," which are very popular among many Filipinos. “I did research before I came here. What we will do is something we have never done before," Kylie said.

“Do you want another old one? Do we even have a curfew? We"ll finish this song together and make it big!,” Kylie exclaimed before singing "Loco-motion."

Looking like a sea goddess with her nude-colored costume, Kylie closed the show with the first track from her "Aphrodite" album, "All the Lovers."

“Mahal ko kayo! I wish you all good night. Thank you so much,” Kylie bid everyone farewell.

Surely, Kylie's fans can"t get her out of their minds, and her hits are still “spinning around” in their head.
