SINGAPORE: Work at a construction site along St Michael's Road came to halt on Saturday morning, after some war relics were discovered.
Police said they were alerted to the scene at about 11.50am.
There were 11 mortar shells, each about 30 to 40 centimetres long.
Experts from the Singapore Armed Forces' Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosive (CBRE) Defence Group were also present.
The relics have since been removed. Authorities said the public was not in danger.
