A local blogger’s controversial offer in promoting her used-underwear online business has set the online world abuzz.
The blogger, known as Felicia, is offering buyers a free “sexy video” of her taking off the panties, if they buy two pairs of underwear, reported The New Paper (TNP). Each pair costs $45.
Details of the blogger’s online business and pictures of her in her underwear were posted on citizen journalism website Stomp on Dec 10, attracting over 116,000 views and 120 comments, as of Sunday morning. Many were upset at her “business”
“What she has done is wrong and immoral. She even said that she isn’t ashamed of what she has done! Show her the errors of her ways!” wrote one Stomp user.
According to the paper, her blog surfaced in November when she first advertised the sale of an old pair of panties for $30. On Dec 1, she started charging for most of her panties at $45, and introduced the offer of a free video clip.
Describing herself as a 19-year-old Chinese Singaporean student, the blogger (whose face cannot be seen online) said on her blog that she “started this blog as a way to earn pocket money and to pay for my school fees”.
She said all panties are worn for a minimum of 12 hours, and she will “try to entertain other requests”. Malaysian paper Sin Chew Daily also said she had sold 16 panties so far.
The New Paper said it managed to view a 20-second clip that had been emailed to a buyer. It showed a nude woman taking off her panties. It also contained a message at the end of the clip that said it was for the buyer, courtesy of Felicia.
Felicia, who declined to be interviewed, said her parents are unaware of her business and she declines requests of sexual services. But she is reportedly willing to perform some sexual requests “off-camera” for those who buy her panties.
Lawyers said the blogger could be committing an offence as her video showing her private parts is against the law. Those who receive the clip could also be guilty of possessing obscene material.
For reproducing an obscene film, Felicia can be fined up to $40,000 or jailed up to two years, or both. Those who receive the video can be fined $1,000 for each copy they possess, or jailed up to a year, or both.
But Felicia is not the only one selling used underwear.
TNP found at least 10 advertisements hawking used women’s and men’s undies on local websites, such as Adpost and Craigslist.
Doctors term a fetish for objects or situations as paraphilia. It is also used to describe a pattern of recurring sexually arousing mental imagery or behaviour involving unusual, and often socially unaceptable sexual practices.
In most cases, paraphilia is treatable but will take a long time as doctors need to discover and understand the psychological reasons behind the fetish.
