LOS ANGELES – At least two people were killed when a truck slammed into the side of California-bound Amtrak train in Nevada, and more bodies could be found in the wreckage, police said Saturday.

The truck driver and at least one passenger died in the crash Friday east of Reno, said Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Dan Lopez, giving an update on the accident.
“Right now there are two people confirmed dead, but there’s a good possibility that it will be more,” he told AFP, after media reports said five people had died.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was leading the investigation into the crash on the “California Zephyr” train, which was carrying some 220 passengers and crew from Chicago to Emeryville, California.
An Amtrack statement Saturday said its latest information was that “there have been fatalities to passengers, an Amtrak train crew member and the operator of the truck.”
