A decomposed lower half of a body was found floating in Bedok Reservoir on Monday morning.
The police received a call at 10.30am and found the body floating in the reservoir.
When contacted by Yahoo! Singapore, the police said it is not known whether the decomposed body is that of male or female. The police and naval diving unit are still searching for the missing upper half of the body.
In a press statement, national water agency PUB said that police investigations are ongoing.
"Water in all our reservoirs is treated to World
Health Organization drinking water standards before it is supplied to
households. The PUB has checked the water quality in Bedok Reservoir and
assures members of the public that the water is safe to drink," added PUB.
