The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has recalled 1,280 passports after printing alignment issues were discovered.
"The printing problem affects a security feature of the passport and those affected may face inconvenience when they travel overseas if the problem is not corrected," said the ICA in statement.
It is now contacting those with the affected passports, which were printed and issued between 23 May and 3 June 2011, to correct the problem.
"The ICA sincerely apologises for the technical glitch that has caused this problem, and for any inconvenience to those who are affected," it said.

There will be special counters for those affected and they will be open from 8.00am to 8.00pm daily on weekdays, and 8.00am to 3.00pm on Saturdays. All affected passports will be corrected on the spot.
Those who want to check if their passports are affected can contact the ICA at (+65) 6391 6611 (24-hours) or visit their website.
