LIVERPOOL
have released pictures of their NEW THIRD UNIFORM KIT but some fans are
angry as it is blue and white -- the colours normally associated with the Reds'
fierce rivals Everton.

Adidas have gone for the white and 'cyan' strip (note the careful decision
not to use the word blue) which is a homage to "Liverpool's first home kit worn
almost 120 years ago which incorporated alternate white and blue halves."
Their press release added: "It wasn't until Bill Shankly became manager that
the home kit became completely red in 1964."
Adidas also said: "The kit takes its design inspiration from the classic
tracksuit tops worn by the infamous LFC teams of the mid 1980's, incorporating
the diagonal stripe across the front of the shirt."
The choice of shirt has caused a bit of stir on social networking sites like
Twitter, but most Liverpool fans and commentators seem to be unhappy with the
choice of colours.
Liverpool-based Times journalist Tony Barrett tweeted: "Liverpool need to
withdraw their new 3rd kit from sale before it causes themselves and their fans
further embarrassment.
"Celtic don't wear blue, white's a no go for Barca, Everton wouldn't dream of
red. Exactly the way it should be."
One fan Richard4481 asked rhetorically: "New Liverpool 3rd away kit to be the
lowest selling Liverpool kit in our history?"
However, not everyone was against the jersey.

"Have to say I like it, it's different, very nice and refreshing, and reminds
me of Real Madrid's. I like the reason behind it too," said Twitter user
gillsyno.
