The new budget carrier by Singapore Airlines (SIA) first set itself apart from its rivals by coming up with a catchy, fun and irreverent name called Scoot.
Now it's taken gone one step further by unveiling a cabin crew uniform that spells C-A-S-U-A-L.
Designed by ESTA Pte Ltd and modelled by its own cabin crew, Scoot on Wednesday gave the media a glimpse of its new cabin crew uniform.
The medium-to-long-haul budget carrier, which will begin its maiden commercial flight in June this year, will see stewardesses serving passengers in black and yellow dresses, while the stewards will don a similarly coloured T-shirt.
Men's uniform lacks formality?
Some gave the new cabin crew uniform the thumbs up, while others found the design too casual, particularly the T-shirt worn by the stewards.
"I am fine with the dresses -- they look quite attractive -- but I personally think that Scoot has gone too far in allowing a T-shirt for its men's uniform," said 42-year-old associate banker Yew Cheong Ming.
"If the cabin crew dress too casually, it will reflect badly on their professionalism," he added.
On the other hand, website designer, James Yong, 32, told Yahoo! Singapore the uniform is well-designed.
"The uniform looks great, as it focuses on a yellow and black theme which blends well with the company's bright yellow logo," he said.
