Dennis "Robocop" Orcollo and Efren "Bata" Reyes advanced to the 64-player knockout stage of the 2011 World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) World 9-Ball Championship in Doha, Qatar.
Orcollo defeated Jalal Yousef of Venezuela, 9-3, while Reyes nipped Konstantin Stepanov of Russia, 9-3.
Orcollo and Reyes each tallied 2 wins in Group A to enter the knock-out stage.
Other Filipino cue masters who made it to the Last 64 are defending World 9-Ball champion Francisco "Django" Bustamante, Carlo Biado, Oliver Medenilla, Jeffrey de Luna, Allan Cuartero and Antonio Lining.
Just like Orcollo and Reyes, they each tallied 2 wins in the $250,000 event.
This year's 9-Ball champion will get the $36,000 top prize.
Ronato "Volcano" Alcano, meanwhile, yielded to Radoslaw Babica of Poland, 9-8, in Group M.
